While I’m sure Candace Bushnell’s Greenwich Village abode isn’t anything new to many of you, I had completely forgotten how much I adored the living room! Situated in a 1920’s apartment building – reputedly built for bachelors making their millions on Wall Street – the 11 foot ceilings and arched windows are quintessential pre-war Manhattan architecture.
I love the soft pastel color palette, gold-leafed accents and antique French furnishings paired with a few unexpected touches, like the leather Moroccan poufs! The glass coffee table keeps the space open, but if it had been me I would have gone with something a little bit more modern – the Barcelona Coffee Table perhaps? – to mix up the periods and styles just a tad bit more.
I love finding images I had somehow mentally lost track of and falling in love with them all over again! Do you ever find yourself doing the same?
